Mind Map
The main character for my film will be Megan Wilson
Age:16
Interests: Fashion, horse riding and Netball
Age:16
Interests: Fashion, horse riding and Netball
The Genre for my film idea will be a Sci-fi and Fantasy, I chose this genre because I am interested in the overall premise of Sci-fi mainly due to its mysterious stories and the whole mythical life.
The story is Sci-fi because it is about a girl who finds herself upon some sort of spaceship, not knowing why she is here or where she is. This becomes a major problem for her as she has to find a way to get back home without getting herself caught escaping and risk being trapped by whatever these foreign creatures are. She faces both physical and mental tasks trying to find a way home.

1. I have chosen these colours together because I think that it makes the colour seem a bit more Gritty and represent London in a more realistic way, in terms of the life and colour that London has. I have also chosen these colours together because I know that they will blend well, due to them all being shades or variations of shades, meaning that they are easy to work with and can be manipulated. They are also neutral which means that they will go with anything. This colour pallet also will benefit my Poster as the photos were taken are rough these colours.
2. These colours are yet again shades of the same colour meaning that they blend well together, by going from Dark brown to darkish red. These colours are called analogues which means that they are a blend of two colours ( being red and brow). This techniques is usually very visually appealing and will go well in a movie poster.
3. These three colours are all variations and shades of blue which can be used full for and a movie poster that may have the characters in a spaceship and having that transition of the atmosphere to the deep dark space. This colour pallet is also an analogue meaning that they are different blends of each other.
4. Yet again these colours are analogues meaning they are shades of each other and will go well with the space theme due to the bright colours of space. These colours were inspired by the Watchmen poster, as the poster has a contrast between the different shades. This colour palette does have limitations though due to the one colour and low variety.
5. This colour palette is the one that cam most likely to use due to the variation of colour and many more possible ideas for movie poster ideas, These colours work well because they are complementary meaning that they work well with each other due to them being on opposite sides of the colour wheel. A good example of a complementary colour sci-fi poster is Blade runner 2049 this poster has a contrast between the two colours like it is almost as bad and evil on two sides of the poster. I Think that I will use this colour pallet for the fact that it is diverse and can easily be changed.
6. This colour pallet may be hard to work with due to the many dark colours that are in it. There isn't a name for this type of colour pallet, due to the abnormality of the colours being together. I am least likely to use this due to the boring colours that will be hard to make a good looking movie poster. Although the colours may be good for flesh tones of the character, it doesn't fit the colour requirements for my poster.

These first mockups are not really what I am trying to convey in terms of the genre and the story. The poster gives off an almost comical feel which is the exact opposite of my genre. Number 2 and 4 look poorly edited and comical. Number 1 also looks poorly edited but it is relevant to the fact that the background is Big Ben which is where the main character originates from. The third poster looks the best out of all of them apart from the Rio statue which may give a wrong impression to fresh eyes, and almost looks like some sort of drug cartel film that may have been inspired by Sicario 1 or 2. The colours of all four of these posters are mostly bland and standard which means that it isn't very eye-catching or overall makes the poster look boring.
